From on-site sales to a complete online channel
Shopify
The platform Słodka Manufaktura's online store was launched on.
A first online channel
The project launched the first complete online sales channel for a business that had worked mostly locally and on site.
Cake configurator
A bespoke solution that walks the customer through the cake's parameters, shows the price and takes the order online.
D2C
The producer selling straight to the end customer, alongside the shop counter.
Automatic price calculation
The price of a cake worked out from the options chosen, with no call to the bakery.
Guests-to-weight converter
The number of guests turned into the weight of the cake, so nobody has to guess the size.
Local SEO
Content and structure prepared for the queries around the bakery itself.
Online + on site
The in-house “Słodkie Oszczędności” programme collects points for online orders as well as purchases at the patisserie in Ciechanowiec.
Project scope
Business needs analysis, UX/UI design, the Shopify build, the cake configurator, an in-house loyalty programme, SEO, CMS content and preparing the store for launch.
Technologies
Shopify, custom front-end and back-end work, a product configurator, a loyalty programme.
Online sales had to be built almost from scratch
Słodka Manufaktura is a local patisserie in Ciechanowiec, known among other things for made-to-order cakes, pastries, desserts, dessert tables and bakes for special occasions. Before the store was built, selling and handling orders relied above all on direct contact with customers and on agreeing the details case by case.
The project did not begin with a ready brief, a detailed specification or a documented map of processes. What was known about the products and about handling orders lived in the day-to-day work and the experience of the owner.
We had to understand how customers order cakes, which decisions they make, what the price and the size of the product depend on, and which parts of the existing process could move into an online store. The store had to serve both classic products, such as pastries and desserts, and personalised cakes.
What had to move from the patisserie's work into e‑commerce
- 01
Opening online sales
Słodka Manufaktura had worked mostly locally and on site. The project meant building a process in which the customer can pick a product, go through the configuration, see the price and place the order online.
- 02
A personalised cake instead of a standard product page
The price of a cake can depend on its size, the number of guests, the weight, the flavour, the type of cream, the decorations, the extras and the customer's preferences. So the store needed a configurator that mirrors how such an order actually comes about.
- 03
A loyalty programme for online and on-site purchases
The loyalty programme had to account for a model in which some customers use the online store while others still buy directly at the patisserie. Instead of an off-the-shelf module, a custom solution was built for that way of selling.
- 04
Business knowledge without a ready specification
The project was not based on an extensive implementation brief. Information about the processes, the products and the expectations was gathered in conversations with the client and put in order alongside designing the solution.
- 05
Content and local SEO from scratch
The scope covered a structure and content supporting organic visibility, including local queries about cakes, particular towns, and the services and occasions the patisserie serves.
From conversations with the owner to a finished store on Shopify
Delivery started with learning how the patisserie works and translating the owner's knowledge into the structure of the store, the purchase process and the features needed to handle online orders.

Business analysis
We went through how a typical cake order is placed, what information is needed to fulfil it, and which decisions the customer can make and which have to stay with the patisserie.
- 02
UX/UI design
Aurora Creation designed the store. The design had to keep the brand's character and show its work, while walking the user down a simple path to placing an order.
- 03
The Shopify build
The store was built on Shopify. The platform handles products, orders, payments and CMS content, while anything beyond its standard capabilities was built bespoke.
- 04
The configurator and the loyalty programme
We built the cake configurator, with logic covering the parameters of an order, and the in-house loyalty programme connecting online and on-site purchases.
- 05
SEO and CMS content
We prepared the store's core content, a structure supporting local visibility, and pages about the offer, the locations and the patisserie's services.
- 06
Getting the store ready to launch
Before the launch we checked the products, the purchase process, the configurator, the content, the information pages, the loyalty programme and the store's key features.
A cake configurator that mirrors the real ordering process
A personalised cake could not be treated as a standard product with one price and a simple variant picker. The configurator had to walk the customer through the parameters that matter and let them see the price before placing the order.

The cake configurator in the store: the flavour step, with the order summary and price beside it.
- 01
The customer picks the details of the order, including the size, the flavour and the decorations.
- 02
The configurator ties the number of guests to the weight of the cake.
- 03
The customer's choices are tied to the final price of the order.
- 04
The customer sees the price and can place the order online.
One of the important parts of the configurator is the conversion from the number of guests to the weight of the cake. It helps the customer settle on the right size, and the process as a whole makes it possible to order a cake online without waiting for a separate, individual quote.

“Słodkie Oszczędności” – an in-house loyalty programme
The programme lets customers collect points for online orders as well as purchases at the patisserie in Ciechanowiec. It covers a welcome bonus, points earned on the value of orders and the option to exchange points for discounts.

Content for local visibility
The store's structure covers content tied to local queries, to particular towns, and to parts of the offer such as wedding cakes, first communion cakes and orders across the Podlasie region.

An offer put in order and a filled-in CMS
The project put the product offer in order and filled in the CMS content, so that the store was ready to launch in how it presents the offer and speaks to users, not only technically.
Słodka Manufaktura's first complete online sales channel
The project gave Słodka Manufaktura a complete online store on Shopify, ready to sell its cakes and pastries and to take orders online. A customer can configure a cake, set its parameters, see the price and place the order over the internet.

- A first complete online channel
- An online store went live as a new sales channel alongside the existing on-site model.
- Cake configurator
- The customer sets the cake's options in the store themselves, with no phone call and no conversation at the counter.
- Automatic price calculation
- The price follows from the options chosen and is visible before the order is placed.
- An ordered ordering process
- Settling the details, which used to exist only in conversation, now has one path through the store.
- Słodkie Oszczędności
- A custom loyalty programme went live, covering both online orders and purchases at the patisserie.
- A store ready to launch
- The project also covered the design, SEO content, CMS content and a check of the store's key elements before launch.
A Shopify build in a fixed scope and in 30 days runs as a Shopify store build. The scope for a producer selling straight to the end customer is set out under a D2C build on Shopify.

- 02See Shopify builds
Products that need bespoke configuration
For projects where a standard product page is not enough, and an order depends on several parameters that shape the final product or its price.
- 03See Shopify builds
Online and on-site sales together
For businesses growing e‑commerce alongside existing on-site sales that want both channels covered by solutions such as a loyalty programme.
